Laura Hayward
L.Hayward@soton.ac.uk

Laura completed her undergraduate degree at Keele University with her third year project working on the synthesis of nalidixic acid under the supervision of Dr Graeme Jones. This was followed by a three month industrial placement at AkzoNobel, Gateshead. She then moved to the University of Southampton in 2018 to complete her taught Masters degree which included a three month project working under Professor Bruno Linclau on the lipophilicity of aliphatic molecules.

Laura's PhD research considers the design of methodology and bio-orthogonal reagents to create peptide sequences that incorporate specific cysteine redox marks. In addition, it will consider the chemical biology of cysteine redox signalling.
