Robert graduated from the University of Southampton with a first class MChem degree in 2018. During his degree, he completed a 3rd year research project focused on the development of new methodology for asymmetric osmium-free dihydroxylation reactions, under the supervision of Professor Richard Brown. In his final year, he undertook a one year industrial placement as a synthetic chemist at AstraZeneca in Cambridge.

Robert’s PhD research concerns the synthesis of novel fluorinated molecules, their characterisation, and their applications in medicinal chemistry. This work is being undertaken with joint supervision from Professor Bruno Linclau.
